Company awarded for exceptional workplace culture and employee satisfaction

WESTBOROUGH, Mass., – (December 9, 2013) – Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ: VRTU), a global business consulting and IT outsourcing company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, today announced that it has been honored by The Albany Business Review as one of Albany’s Best Places to Work.

Virtusa was one of just 30 Albany-area companies to be honored with the award. The company was recognized based on the results of an employee survey, facilitated by Quantum Workplace. The survey, which had 100 percent employee participation, indicated near-perfect levels of employee satisfaction, which is directly related to the innovative, Millennial-driven corporate culture of the company’s first major US-based technology center. The Albany Business Review’s Best Places to Work awards program is now in its tenth year.

“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious recognition from The Albany Business Review,” said Tracy Smith, senior HR manager for Virtusa. “This award reflects the one-of-a-kind company culture that we have successfully developed in such a short time here at the development center. We have made great strides since we officially opened in July, creating a fun, collaborative and challenging environment that allows team members to reach their full potential.”

The Albany Development Center is a hub for career development and has attracted a number of recent graduates from nearby universities. Offering a clear career path for new employees, with detailed performance reviews and innovative management processes, the Albany Development Center provides the feeling of a start-up in a large institution.

“Working with and learning from my peers is a huge perk of my job,” said Dennis Friends, Virtusa team member. “I look forward to going to work every day and being part of an environment that inspires innovation and creativity.”

Over the past year, Virtusa has been recognized all over the globe with numerous awards, including “Best Employer” awards in the U.S., Britain, India and Sri Lanka. Recently, Virtusa won the Silver Stevie® Award for ‘Human Resource Department of the Year’ in the 10th annual International Business Awards. The company was also named to Britain’s Top Employers list and The Boston Globe’s Globe 100, in addition to being recognized with a Pegasystems Partner Excellence Award for ‘Thought Leadership in Legal Services,’ and a Bronze Stevie® Award for ‘Human Resources (HR) Department of the Year- Computer Software and Services.’
