Education and Evaluation Program Creates Framework for RPM Success

BOSTON – PROGRESS REVOLUTION 2011 – (September 19, 2011) – Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ: VRTU), a global IT services company that offers a broad range of information technology services, including IT consulting, technology implementation and application outsourcing services, today announced wide availability of the Virtusa RPM (Responsive Process Management) Test Drive offering at Progress Revolution 2011. An evolution of the company’s BPM Test Drive offering, the new service goes hand in hand with the Progress^® Responsive Process Management(r)^™ (RPM) suite to integrate process management, provide real time stability and ultimately enable organizations to make the right investment decisions, at the right time.

The RPM suite has the unique ability to deliver real-time control and visibility into business operations and allow companies to respond quickly and flexibly to changing market needs. This translates to a number of business benefits including increased productivity, reduced overall costs and increased efficiencies. However, due to the lack of understanding around how to best utilize RPM technologies, these business benefits are often not realized.

Virtusa’s RPM Test Drive helps clients plan and execute successful RPM programs. Virtusa’s RPM Test Drive educates business and IT teams on RPM value, concepts and methods, identifies transformation opportunities by building a business case with ROI, and helps customers adopt the right project model and methodology. The three-week engagement is built on the company’s Understand-Evaluate-Demonstrate (UED) framework for RPM Needs Assessment, Business Case and ROI Calculation. It has proven to help organizations reduce the time to program kick off by 90 percent and lower program risks by more than 70 percent.

“RPM provides a much more forward thinking view of BPM,” said Stuart Chandler, global head of Virtusa’s BPM practice. “So many organizations are unable to use information in real-time, putting them at a competitive disadvantage. Our RPM Test Drive addresses this issue by equipping organizations with the knowledge and tools they need to quickly respond to a market that is constantly changing.”

“Virtusa has been providing innovative solutions and offerings in the BPM space for over 10 years,” said Allen Brault, senior director global alliances at Progress. “As a leading Global Industry Partner for Progress, Virtusa extends this heritage by launching the RPM Test Drive offering which helps organizations better understand, evaluate and realize the full potential of an RPM based solution.”

Virtusa’s RPM Test Drive offering is built on the company’s successful BPM Test Drive. For many enterprises, BPM has dramatically improved operational efficiency, increased agility and accelerated time-to-market. Despite these proven benefits, many BPM projects fail to deliver on their potential due to an inability to align the organization, clearly articulate goals and address non-technology challenges. Virtusa’s RPM Test Drive helps organizations anticipate and avert these common pitfalls to reap the full value of BPM.
