Successful businesses frequently outsource their work, and IT consulting cloud services are no exception.

Across the globe, various industry leaders hire IT consulting cloud services in order to preserve company resources, cut costs, and optimize workflows. Skilled information technology (IT) consultants can offer a number of services related to supporting a company’s IT needs and initiatives. They will often work with projects from beginning to end, creating long-term IT strategies and plans for better business outcomes, guiding solution architecture and systems integration, overseeing identity and access management (IAM), and providing enterprise resource planning (ERP) services. Consultants’ ERP experience can ensure the selection of the right software to suit a company’s business needs.

For example, AWS Professional Services is a cloud consulting company designed by AWS for AWS cloud migrations. It has a track record of delivering cloud solutions for a number of prominent clients across diverse industries; these include 21st Century Fox, Intuit, Siemens, Samsung, and Nestle. AWS consultants, and other IT consulting cloud services, begin by setting desired business outcomes and then follow a roadmap to align business goals with tried-and-true technologies and tools.

The IT consulting cloud services umbrella also includes Google Cloud consultants. Google Cloud consulting services providers sell, service, and build Google Cloud products for their clientele. Google Cloud consultants might be Google employees, but they might also be third-party service providers with extensive cloud migration experience. Using the Google Cloud website, potential clients can scan a Google-provided directory to find an IT consulting cloud services provider. As with any partnership, businesses should properly vet their services provider. The Google Cloud directory makes the vetting process easily, as it allows viewers to specify by region, specialization, initiative, solution designation, and more.

A short-term investment in IT consulting cloud services can pay off in long-term revenue gain. By outsourcing cloud migration work to consultants, companies can benefit from increased optimization, a streamlined cloud strategy, a robust digital transformation, and streamlined workloads for company employees. By working with cloud computing experts, a company’s employees will increase their utilization and knowledge of IT resources. They grow aware of common pitfalls associated with a lack of IT knowledge and acumen: malicious attacks; the proliferation of software viruses; general system failure; reputational damage; and the mismanagement of client and company data.

In a more general sense, cloud services providers add ease to business operations. They reduce the stress typically associated a cloud migration and digital transformation, which are generally very complex processes. Services providers leverage their migration expertise and their computing knowledge to provide solutions for private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid cloud migrations. Consultants’ deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and cloud strategy lets business leaders stay focused on their own areas of expertise, including business operations, the customer experience (CX), and the financial health of the company.

As part of their role, IT consulting cloud services might help enterprises implement Anything-as-a-Service (XaaS) solutions. These cloud computing solutions provide companies with tools and technologies via subscription. Unlike on-premises software, XaaS (e.g., Software-as-a-Service [SaaS], Infrastructure-as-a-Service [IaaS], and Network-as-a-Service [NaaS]) gives companies greater flexibility and a greater number of options. The subscription-based pricing model allows companies to reduce or remove their dependency on data warehouses or the purchasing of servers. XaaS experts can also serve as IT consulting cloud services providers themselves, as their knowledge of subscription-based software can help companies scale up or scale down with relative ease. Web-based software operates with flexibility in mind, and business leaders become free to adjust their subscription model based on their needs.

While all cloud consulting service providers are expert technicians, some providers are more appropriate for certain companies or within certain sectors. For example, a bank or other financial services company might be especially interested in a consulting services provider that can implement the latest data security best practices. Companies that rely heavily on smartphone apps and customer portals will be interested in application modernization. They need cloud consulting services providers who understand their need for frequent and seamless app updates and a consistent user experience (UX). Additionally, companies whose clients need 24/7 access will be especially interested in business continuity plans. They will want to guarantee an uninterrupted customer experience in the face of weather events or other disruptions. In this scenario, an IT consulting cloud services provider might advise a business on how to establish a robust disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Such a plan might involve maintaining operations remotely, via cloud-based or hybrid cloud-based operations, or having employees undergo continuous review of the disaster recovery plan. Enabling employees to work from home can also ensure business continuity and resiliency.

Given the growth of the cloud market and developments in artificial intelligence (AI), IT consulting cloud services are highly desired and highly valued. Per Industry Research Co, “The global IT consulting services market size was valued at USD 906.47 million in 2022 and is expected to expand at a CAGR of 4.49% during the forecast period, reaching USD 1179.67 million by 2028.”

These numbers echo recent demand for a wide variety of consulting cloud services. The Forage, a career exploration platform, predicts that growth within the IT consulting industry will be accelerated by greater public interest in the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, the growing list of publicly available AI tools, and augmented reality (AR) hardware.

The business benefits of employing IT consulting cloud services are many. Below are a few.

Specialized, intelligent support from industry experts with hard-won IT expertise
Savings achieved through avoidance of costs associated with a greater number of full-time, in-house employees (e.g., 401k contributions and benefits)
Potential collaborations with other technology and security companies, enabled by IT consultants’ long-term partnerships
Development of strategies for avoiding data breaches and identity theft; if these occur, they can trigger massive revenue losses; broken customer relationships; and a loss of faith in the company, resulting in a reduction of value in the company stock
Automatic background software updates
The optimization of company expenses; no further investing in unnecessary or underutilized items, products, and tools
Increased scalability and ability to meet customer demand for new products, services, and technologies
Increased collaboration among company employees, facilitated by enhanced transparency, improved accountability standards, and precise recordkeeping
